November
Sorry everyone, we are having to cancel the upcoming Adobe CS4 class due to schedule conflicts. We are dedicated to bringing you the highest quality knowledge and experience and as such we will be merging some of these elements into Wild Wild West of Art & Technology coming in early 2009.
Please visit DFW Adobe Users Group meeting - www.dfwaug.net
- on November 15th from 11am to 1pm for a very important meeting. The following is a from a notice that they sent out:
"Don't miss this one! Gene McCullagh will show us the new features of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2!
This is the last meeting for the year so we will be raffling off a full CS4 Creative Suite! Tickets will be available for $5.00 each. The proceeds replenish our pizza fund. In addition to buying a chance to you you may be able to win a chance to win when we play Adobe Jeopardy!!
As usual, we will meet at Nerdbooks (1681 Firman Drive, Richardson, TX).
This location also acts as a Labrador rescue. Please be aware that there will be at least two dogs roaming the premises (they are friendly).
NOTE - The front door of the facility is locked. We use the side door entrance (which is not marked well). PLEASE KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED, so the dogs will not get out."

Game Addiction: Myth or Fact?- Our Responsibility as an Industry
Back in September when I attended the Game Developers Conference in Austin, I had the privilege as a Game Art and Design student to actually rub shoulders with real live actual people in the gaming industry. I have to say I enjoyed every moment and that my only regret was that the conference only lasted for three days.
While there, I opened my favorite Pandora’s Box and asked people about how they felt about creating a product that could effectively be involved with someone’s addiction to games. The stance I encountered in all cases for my impromptu poll was pretty well one-sided. In every case, the opinion was that gamers make the decision to play the games and their type of usage is not really the problem of the game maker. They compared it to the way that a person might consume alcohol. It’s not the fault of the alcohol industry that people are alcoholics certainly. Right?
